Happy Tuesday & Happy Veteran’s Day!!

So I am super excited to share with you my pink couch transformation!!

But first…. for those of you who live in the Phoenix area – I wanted to share a little about my fabric store adventures and give a little review!

5 Fabric Stores and a trek across the valley & I found my fabric!

I started at Tempe Sales  – pretty good selection- although some what outdated styles,  decent prices. Staff was not over the top helpful but lots to look at & pretty organized. I found a really nice Suede at $11/yd  but I was hoping for a lower price – so on to the next store..

Home Fabrics - (off the 51 & Cactus)  Clean store, helpful staff, great selection & current styles (also a great place to look for an area rug).  I found some beautiful upholstery fabric but it was $14/yard and since I needed about 13 yards that was not gonna happen. :)

SAS Fabrics – Multiple locations. I went to 3 different stores

1. SAS Tempe  – not sure if you have been to a SAS store… but I would describe it as Ross on crack. If you are are someone that needs things to be color coordinated, tidy & organized  .. this may not be the store for you. However, if you can look beyond the disorganization and the hit or miss customer service –  you can find great treasures at AMAZING prices at these stores!!  Tip:  Give yourself plenty of time – lots of fabrics to look at… also a great place to find lace, decorative trim and other embellishments. Lines can be long to get your fabric cut but totally worth it!  Go on a day that you have energy to hunt & if you do not feel like you are someone that is super visual or visionary – bring a friend who is!

2. SAS Downtown Phoenix – 1111 E Indian School Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85014   -this location was very similar to the Tempe location- good selection, great prices, you can expect piles of fabric to sift through and some chaos.

3. SAS Superstore- Phoenix  – this was my first visit to this location – I assumed it would be much like the other two stores – but this one is by far the most organized, biggest selection, much cleaner than the other two stores & same great prices. ( haha i sound like a commercial)

and the SAS Fabric Superstore was my winner winner chicken dinner! :) haha – i found a great upholstery fabric at the fabulous price of $3.99/yd !!!

And now for the BIG REVEAL!!

Here is the pink couch in its original condition. My husband found it one day while browsing at Goodwill! Props to my husband that he had paid attention to my ramblings about shapes and styles of couches!  The awesome part was the price – $30 -woohoo!!!

And now – after my quest for upholstery fabric – I found this blue-ish/ mint fabric that is some what of a micro-fiber – nice and soft.

I am very pleased with the results (and No I did not do the upholstery myself! I only wish I had the skill!) Next is to scotch guard her so I can let people sit down! haha.

And this Transformation Tuesday and Fabric Store Review came straight to you from The White House. :)

Have a great day!
