And who doesn’t LOVE a give-away?? We are giving away TWO VIP admission tickets! Details on how to enter are at end of this post or check out our Instagram
Lindsey and I met at Scottsdale Bible Church and were part of a leadership team in a young marrieds class. I had just had my first baby and Lindsey was pregnant with her first. Through church and playdates we became friends.
Needing a creative outlet, we sold items on Craigslist, Lindsey selling barn wood signs and I was painting furniture. On a couples trip to Canada, our husbands encouraged us to reach out to local artists on Craigslist and have a little market in a friends backyard.
Junk in the Trunk Vintage Market was born with 23 vendors and 600 people came through the door! We were shocked and excited; never meaning to actually start a business, our husbands however instantly knew we had something unique and it was full speed ahead ever since! The last show of 2014 had 180 vendors and 10,000 people came through the door!
Living bravely helped us create something from nothing. Through a lot of trial and error, we learned as we went making a lot of mistakes. It is scary to step out and try something new.
Both Lindsey and I are moms of three kids and being a mom and wife is our number one priority. We wanted a business that fit into our lives as moms but also something that we were proud of.
That creates lots of challenges… we try and run our business while our kids are at school, napping or after they go to sleep. That means late nights and complaints from people that want us to have more flexibility. We realize we can never make everyone happy and that’s OK. Lindsey and I stay true to who we are and do the best we can with the time we have. We want to enjoy our little people as long as we can!
Small business takes courage and a ton of passion. Lindsey and I LOVE what we do and the people we get to work with. If you are passionate about something and are willing to put in the blood, sweat and tears, you can achieve it! A lot of people want something for nothing and then get frustrated and want to quit when it gets hard. To LIVE BRAVE means being willing to do what others are afraid to do, and that’s what success is to us.
