Hi!! I’m Candi. Wife, Mom, Campus Pastor, Aspiring Blogger, Speaker & Small Biz Owner.

Every year I pray for a word or a phrase . As I prayed for my Word for 2105 –  here is what I got.

1. Pursuit – to first & foremost pursue my relationship with Jesus- that everything I need flows from Him & through Him.. As I first pursue Him – He will give me exactly what I need to pursue other aspects of my life.

2. Secondly was this –  Live Brave.

I felt a personal challenge to:

1. Stop making excuses!

2. Stop waiting for things to be perfect & start stepping out!

So, here we are! This is me taking a small step & Living Brave.

The Purpose

My hope & prayer is to provide a place for some Encouragement, Practical tools / real life challenges & Authentic Stories of real life women who are defining what it means for them to Live Brave.

The Plan

Each week you can expect at least one Live Brave post. You can follow me on Instagram @whitefivedesigns & we will be using the hashtag #livebrave15 – there will be occasional give-aways with some challenges along the way!  Sound fun? You can subscribe over on the right hand side of this post to ensure you receive the weekly posts!

The Passion

I believe there is greatness within each one of us. I do not want to allow fear to hold me back.

We get one life. I don’t want to look back & wonder “what if…?”  I want to set an example for my kids & those around me.

For me, I realize there are far too many things that I do not take steps towards because I am waiting for things to be “perfect” or look “perfect” first.  This does not work.

If we are waiting for perfection we may be waiting for a long long time! If we are waiting for perfection, chances are we will never make progress.

This is what I am learning.

Living Brave looks different for everyone.

Don’t compare & contrast!

Many times I have focused on my weaknesses & have compared them to another person’s strengths. If you want to make yourself feel like failure this is a sure bet for that!

Rather, let’s start discovering what our strengths are, own them & develop them! (more on this later)

Define what it is for you to Live Brave. Start small. It’s the small steps that turn into distance.

What is your Every day Brave? Living Brave is not just the “Go Skydiving” kind of brave, it is the small steps of bravery.

It may be making that phone call you have been putting off, asking someone for help, signing up for the class you’ve wanted to take, meeting your neighbor, pursuing a friendship, starting a business, sharing your faith, going to the gym … and the list goes on & on.

What is your Living Brave? Choose 1 thing & then go from there. Be Specific. Be Realistic.

  1. #livebrave15 will be less planning, more open hearted trusting and listening to the Lord to direct my steps and my plans.

  2. I LOVE THIS POST! I very much believe that God has created us for an amazing purpose to bless those around us and be the open door of Love for Him! God has not given us the spirit of fear, He has made us to be so much more! Shine BRIGHTER, STRONGER and live the ABUNDANT life He has prepared for us!

    1. Thanks Barbie!! Love to watch how you are Living Brave & working hard growing your business and encouraging other women! :)

  4. God has been challenging me in so many areas of my life lately! One big one, and the area that I feel I need to be the bravest in, is following God’s calling without backing down to the challenges that come each and every day! The people or situations that question our abilities, or challenge our position are merely part of God’s ultimate plan to refine us! Refining takes patience and bravery! :)

    1. Thanks for sharing Holly! That indeed is challenging & requires a lot of grace, bravery & energy! :) May God provide all you need!!! <3

  5. Hi Candi! Love this challenge! I have been working on choosing to trust the Lord instead of worrying about the unknown…not always easy, but worth it!

    1. Yes Tiffany! Def worth it & i agree not always easy! :) I have to renew my focus often & focus on the fact that God is good – even when i do not understand. -Proverbs 3:5-6

  6. this year i’m going to live brave as i step into a new role at church that kinda scares me a little bit, but i know God’s in it. love this theme of #livebrave15 and i love the tshirts too! great job Candi!

  7. Last year all my deepest fears were challenged and God in His mercy set me free to live brave in His love for me, which is more than enough….now #livebrave15 for me will look like what Andrew Murray calls “faith” in his book, Absolute Surrender: “utter despair of self, a ceasing from man and everything on earth, and finding our hope in God alone.”
