OK hers’s the situation – the husband & i own the iphone 4s – husband’s phone decides to go for a swim & no longer works and mine is in need of an upgrade.
husband leaves to Verizon store – comes back hours later with two Samsung Galaxy S5’s & two Tablets.
What!!!???
Who knew I would have such a reaction to this — I mean it’s only a phone, right??!! Or is it…
So after my initial reaction & my feeling that I was cheating on the iphone … I decided to chill out and learn a new phone (change is not always easy).
I have to admit the Galaxy S5 has some great features — water resistant, that large screen, great photo quality, the calendar layout, storage capacity & customizable…
First off, I am not one of those ” I will only use Apple people” – I am not a techy person at all!!
Sooooooo after a week or so of “adjusting” to the change – I wanted my iphone back!!!
I apologize to my husband, since it required another looooooong time spent at the Verizon store.
I’m not hatin’ on the Galaxy – I know lots of people who have them and love them.. it could have just been my phone but here are the issues I experiences and my thoughts:
-the email app did not work well
– the gmail app stopped working multiple times
– the other apps that I am accustomed to using (ie: love my photo collage apps) would quit working
– I missed all my emojis on instagram & fb
– I didn’t like that your notifications do not come across the screen
So yeah, there you have it… just my experience.
Someone who knows a lot more about phones than I do & owns a Samsung said this “I won’t say that one is better than the other. Whatever gets the job done for you and you are comfortable with is the one you should use. I commend you for trying something new.”
So, for me.. an Iphone seems to be the way to go – even though the Galaxy has some great features and people love how customizable they are — I don’t think that really appeals to me. I like the simplicity of the Iphone.
And so ..The Great Dilemma Solved … (for now) O & we kept the Tablets.
